At Brand Attention, functionality is one of our primary goals and the web development team are able to integrate third party applications into your site to provide additional relevant interfaces for your end-user.
A perfect example is the integration of Google Maps, a web-based mapping service application developed and provided by Google. This service is available direct from Google on their Google Maps site but the company also provides the Google Maps Application Programme Interface (API). Brand Attention uses the Google Maps API to integrate the Google Maps third party application into any client project, providing a search service with interactive maps, local directions, and route map functions.
As an example, we have recently completed a large web site for the Central Manchester and Manchester Children's University Hospitals. In the ‘Plan your visit' section of each of the individual hospitals pages is a link that leads to ‘Map and directions'. The Google Map of the area around the hospital is displayed with information provided about the hospital location, with major travel routes indicated. When you add your own postcode to the search box, pressing the ‘Get directions' button displays the recommended route from your address to the hospital. This is an invaluable tool for patients, parents, and carers helping them to plan visits to the different hospital centres.
The web development team at Brand Attention are constantly updating their skills and knowledge, and keep an eye on the latest third party applications that are released, always open to new possibilities for the future. But before we integrate them into any client web site we're careful to ensure they've been thoroughly tested and are error and problem free.
